We managed to obtain investigators’ notes and call summaries between TEA and other parties, and it appears that not only did TEA know in October 2022 that the letter was forged, but they may have known before Round Rock and RRISD police did. Why they failed to publicly act on it, though, and why TEA hasn’t come out and said so remains a mystery.
Furthermore, it appears that Vanessa Ruiz lied to TEA investigators about providing said letter to superintendent of Wayside Charter Schools.
On October 28, 2022, Ruiz said the following to TEA SIU Director Adam Benthall:
However, five days later, on November 2, Superintendent Abbott directly contradicted Ruiz’s claims in an interview with SIU Director Benthall.
This doesn’t begin to scratch the surface of what’s in those investigators’ notes and call records, and from what we’re seeing, it’s entirely plausible – if not a certainty – that Jeremy Story and Jennifer White, the leaders of Round Rock One Family, conspired with Vanessa Ruiz to use an easily-provable forgery to help the candidates they endorsed in their campaigns.
And, of course, they specifically chose Orlando Salinas to amplify their fraud – the candidate opposing Trustee Landrum (Feller).
More to come…
